The Early Church Was Not Socialist - Musings of an Old Curmudgeon

Mr Kengor explores, and explodes, the myth of the 'socialist Church' so beloved by the 'Catholic' SJW Left.

From Crisis

By Paul Kengor

“The early church was a socialist church.”

So said Rev. Raphael Warnock in 2016, four years before the citizens of Georgia elected him a U.S. senator.

It’s a strange statement, least of all because the description “socialist church” is an oxymoron. Not only would the Church fathers be puzzled by it, but so would socialism’s fathers. “Religious socialism, Christian socialism, are contradictory terms,” stated Pope Pius XI in Quadragesimo Anno, “no one can be at the same time a good Catholic and a true socialist.”

“Religion and communism are incompatible, both theoretically and practically,” noted Nikolai Bukharin, founding editor of Pravda. “Communism is incompatible with religious faith.” On behalf of the Bolsheviks, he insisted: “A fight to the death must be declared upon religion. We must take on religion at the tip of the bayonet.”

That they did. They knew that religion and socialism/communism were incompatible.

The Gospel According to Progressive Christianity

Is progressive Christianity just a group of Christians who are changing their minds on politics and social issues, or is the gospel that is taught by many progressive leaders entirely different from the historic Christian gospel?

A Message For All Believers in These Last Days

Impossible Unity - Francis Chan - Crazy Love

Jesus prayed that the church would become perfectly united just as the Father and Son are perfectly one. Yet we are more divided than ever. Francis Chan shares how becoming one seems impossible. It would take a miracle...

The Bible says that we were created in such a way that we are capable of attaining oneness with God and each other. What would it look like if the church really believed this and started pursuing it seriously? Let’s encourage and document movements of prayer for unity. As an individual or as a group, share your story and record and upload your prayers for unity in the church to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #PrayUntilUnity. Tag others to pray with you and join the prayer movement. How powerful would it be to see thousands of believers coming together with this heart and praying for the thing that Jesus commanded and died for? “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me." —John 17: 20-21 ESV

The Cult of Woke-ness

I came across a story in the Christian Post today that I echoed a lot of the thought's I've ben having about the society we live in and its unravelling that I will link for you (HERE) entitled: Wokeism is far more dangerous than secularism by Hedieh Mirahmadi. I highly recommend you read it as it reminded me of a parody I wrote of the old Simon and Garfunkle classic The Sound of Silence that I reworded and entitled: The Cult of Woke-ness.

The Cult of Woke-ness - Sung to the tune: “The Sound of Silence”
Hello darkness my old friend, time to do battle once again,
Because a disease slowly creeping, planted seeds in us while sleeping,
And the cancer, that was planted in our brains, still remains,
tis the cult of Woke-ness,
Through the nights our cities burned, Our so-called leaders unconcerned,
Radicals are a-gi-ta-ting, social media moguls cen-so-ring,
Then my mind conceived the fullness of the nation’s plight, that did indict,
the evil we know as Woke-ness,
And in the dark of night I saw, ten million people maybe more,
People speaking without thinking, people hearing without listening,
People shouting slogans their masters had prepared, and no one dared,
question the gods of Woke-ness,
Fools I said you do not know, Woke-ness like a cancer grows,
Hear the truth that I might teach you, Take my hand that I might free you,
But my words, like silent raindrops fell, (instrumental pause)
and echoed through the abyss of Woke-ness,
And the Zombies bowed and prayed, to the god of “Woke” they made,
And their masters gave a warning, through slogans people were chanting,
And they said that the teachings of Marx are written on the hearts and minds, of
who worship the gods of Woke-ness.
